Perak - Pulau Pangkor


Pangkor Island is the third largest island located in the state of Perak, Malaysia in the waters of the Straits of Melaka.

It covers an area of   only 2,200 hectares and has a population of about 25,000 people. Pangkor Island is one of the major tourist destinations in Malaysia.
Pangkor Island is a tropical island and has several interesting tourist attractions. Among the places of focus
tourists are: Kota Belanda, Batu bersurat, Pantai Puteri Dewi, Pantai Pasir Bogak and Teluk Nipah
Pangkor Island can be explored on foot or by land and sea vehicles.
The surroundings are ideal for sea activities such as swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, and fishing.
Pangkor Laut Resort owned by YTL Hotels on the west side of Pasir Bogak Beach is a luxury private resort of international standard.
Foreigners are mostly attracted to the white sandy beaches and clear sea.
Many travelers do a bit of sight seeing around the island. There are a few good places to visit: the Dutch Fort with Tiger Rock, 
The Chinese Foo-Lin Kong temple, the fishing villages, ikan bilis (anchovies) shops and factories, shipbuilding and more.
Some travelers take a half day taxi tour around the island, others prefer to take a bicycle or motorbike to do it by themselves. 

It is very easy to do so on your own and most hotels rent out bicycles and motorbikes.
